We recently welcomed our young neighbours from Kensington Fields Community Association onto University of Liverpool campus, to see what a university looks like and learn about The Pandemic Institute and the work we do.

Twenty young people joined staff from The Pandemic Institute and wider University of Liverpool public engagement team for a series of fun activities. We played with UV hand gel to demonstrate how easily germs such as Covid-19 can be transferred, and how important hand washing is, made our own petri dishes full of good and bad bacteria, designed a healthy Lego city, and also learned about the anatomy of a cell – with the use of biscuits and sweets! Fun was had by all (including the staff!) and we’re excited to work with the centre in the future.
